If your Orba 3 is unresponsive and the pad LED’s are illuminated red, please connect your Orba 3 to the desktop version of the Artiphon Connect app via USB-C. The app will recognize the instrument and put it back into playing mode.
If the app, does not recognize your Orba 3 on its own, please follow the steps below:
Ensure the Artiphon Connect app is closed and that your unit is connected to a computer via a cabled USB connection.
Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down (-) button simultaneously for 15 seconds. This forces the Orba to power off (no lights should be illuminated on the unit).
Then press and hold the Volume Up (+) then also hold the Power button and wait for the lights to turn red. This is called bootloader mode, and it’s necessary to force a firmware update.
On your computer (outside of the app, e.g. Finder or Windows Explorer), you should see a driver location called “ORBA3UPDATE” that’s currently open. This would be in the same place as if you’d connect an external hard drive or other device to your computer.
Please download the attached .bin file, then drag it into the ORBA3UPDATE drive. This should force your Orba into a firmware update to get it fixed.
