What You'll Need:
- USB Cable - included in your order for device connectivity.
- A computer that meets our system requirements (macOS 10.13 and newer & Windows 10 (64 bit) and newer).
- A download of the Artiphon Connect app.
- The most recent firmware.
- Update the firmware by connecting your Orba 2 to the desktop version of the Artiphon Connect app via USB-C.
- Turn Orba 2 on.
- Connect to computer via USB-C
- Open Artiphon Connect app.
- Select "USB" as the connection type.
- Once connected, a pop-up will appear to start your firmware update.
- If your Orba 2 is already up-to-date, no firmware update is necessary.
- Update the firmware by connecting your Orba 2 to the desktop version of the Artiphon Connect app via USB-C.
- For iOS devices, you will need a CameraKit adapter. This allows the bi-directional transfer of musical data).
Start Playing:
- Turn it on using the power button on the side of Orba 2.
- Tap any of the eight pads to get a feel for your new instrument.
- Press the A button to change playing modes. Pressing the A button the first time will take you from Drums to Bass mode., then Bass to Chord, and so on.
- Change presets - Connect to the Artiphon Connect app via USB-C to transfer new sounds to your Orba 2. Once you've transferred them for the first time, you'll be able to do this via Bluetooth in the future.
- Make your first loop:
- Press and hold the (A) button and pad 6 (REC). You'll hear the metronome come on, but your Orba 2 won't start recording until you press your first pad.
- Play for however long you'd like (up to five minutes!)
- Then, press (A) on its own to close the loop.
- Press (A) again to switch to a different mode
- Keep adding layers until you're satisfied with your loop.
- When you're done recording, press and hold (A) + pad 6 (REC).
- After this, you'll hear your song playing back. To stop this, press (A) + pad 5 (Play/Pause).
- If you want to add to your song, go ahead and start recording again by pressing (A) + pad 6.
- If you're all done, save it in the Artiphon Connect app. Click the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the Play tab to name and save your song!
